Spring Great Day of Service -

Though people are involved in ministry projects year round, the recent practice at First Church has been to gather twice a year for a day dedicated to "hands-on" service to our church and community. This typically occurs on a Saturday in the Spring and in the Fall of each year.

In 2010 our Spring Great Day of Service was Saturday, April 17th.

Great Day of Service on April 17th, 2010!

This day included a number of different projects, on the church campus and in the community.

Helping at Church Member's Homes (Adults and Youth)
    
Fulller Center for Housing Home Repairs (Adults and Youth)
    
Gleaning in Clermont or Zellwood (Adults, Youth and Children)
    
Low Impact Jobs at the church (Adults and Youth)
    
Seniors First - Painting project in the community (Adults and Youth)
    
Christian Service Center - Painting Project (Adults and Youth)
    
Women's Residential Counseling Center - Painting Project at Coalition for the Homeless (Adults and Youth)

REGISTRATION PAGE

As part of our continuing support for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief), we are collecting items for layette kits to be distributed to those in disaster areas around the world.  The items needed for each kit are:

          - 6 cloth diapers

          - 2 shirts or 2 one-piece body suits

          - 2 baby washcloths

          - 2 gowns or sleepers

          - 2 diaper pins

          - 1 sweater open in the front (knitting directions available at the church office)

          - 2 receiving blankets
