First United Methodist Church of Orlando

Great Day of Service

Though people are involved in ministry projects year round, the recent practice at First Church has been to gather twice a year for a day dedicated to "hands-on" service to our church and community. This typically occurs on a Saturday in the Spring and in the Fall of each year. Volunteers share breakfast followed with Communion before going out in teams to accomplish various mission tasks.  We will keep you up to date as these special days are scheduled for 2008.

Tool Belt
Thank you to all who participated in the service days on September 29th and October 6th of 2007.  September 29th was a work day around our church campus, as we cleaned a prepared for the extra large rummage sale held in early November.  Then, on the first weekend of October, we participated with over 40 other Orlando churches in an event called FUSION.  This was an effort for the churches to work together in presenting a Christian witness to the community, and there are plans for another similar event in the fall of 2008.
