Young Adult Ministry

Welcome!  The following information shares some ways that you can connect with other young adults in their 20’s and 30’s at our church.

We realize that a nurturing community is vital to us as we seek to live out our faith, and the classes and events below seek to provide a place for a welcoming community.

If you are in your 20s or 30s, this group is for you. Do you have an idea for a small group that you would like to grow with? There are many different possibilities for spiritual growth for adults in these age groups: perhaps a contemporary book club, men’s group, women’s group or couples with kids group? Contact Maria Waldrep at maria@fumc-orl.org with your thoughts and suggestions of how these groups could attract more participants.

Sunday Classes
The following 2 groups meet on Sunday mornings and primarily consist of young adults in their 20’s and 30’s.

New Flight: New Wesley Building (Across South Street from sanctuary), Room 312, 9:45 a.m.

We are primarily in our twenties and thirties, singles and couples.  From our small group setting, we go to the 11:00 worship service and then often continue on to lunch to connect socially and to cement friendships. For additional information, contact Angela Fuller at 407-970-8548.

Discovery: New Wesley building (Across South Street from sanctuary), Room 312, 11:00 a.m.

After attending the 9:30 worship service, this group usually walks to Starbucks for a few people to grab a coffee before gathering in Room 312 for an hour of Scripture discovery. For additional information about the class contact Christy Henderson at (407) 852-5623 or email cmh_125@netzero.com

Schedule:

Come out March 16th for an after-church picnic at Langford Park.  This is a church event, and there will be an egg-hunt for those of you with small children.  You may bring your lunch, or there will be lunches available for $6.  If you are planning on buying lunch, let me know by e-mail at britt@fumc-orl.org. 

As we move forward with our schedule this year, we are currently planning some events.  If you have ideas or would like to be involved in planning some events with young adults, please e-mail me at britt@fumc-orl.org
